We are currently formalising arrangements for the return for junior classes only this April. As much as we would like to be holding adult classes too we are unable to until we get the go ahead from the government and the centre, we are hoping that this shouldn’t be too much longer.
Classes will be 45 minutes to allow extra time for cleaning between classes and clubs.
We will need to keep the classes and the centre Covid 19 free. I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that if you or your child has had symptoms or has been told to isolate they must not attend the class no matter how mild their symptoms.
In order to fulfil the conditions of our booking we are obliged to take details for track and trace and i have enclosed a copy of a declaration that will be needed to return to me prior to the class. As numbers will be limited, return of the form will be needed to secure a place in a class. Unfortunately you will need to do this for each class until we are notified otherwise. I’d suggest keeping a copy and changing the date provided the information remains the same.
I will need to add your details to the email list to communicate with you regarding classes and administration, and your mobile number will be used to contact you in case of a positive case. This will of course need to be shared with Track and Trace if necessary, but your information will be treated confidentially and only for these purposes.
You may be reassured to hear that we are exploring options for electronic payments and if this is well received this may become a long term change.
As I have previously warned there will be some changes to how the classes work and how training can take place whilst remaining within the rules. We have to adhere to a stack of regulations in order to keep you all safe and have to assure the centres that we will all do our bit to adhere to them in order for the classes to take place.
Classes will be taking place in Studio 2 rather than the main sports hall- this is on the left as you look at the sports hall doors. This will mean we are more isolated from other gym users and there should be fewer distractions for those taking the class. Unfortunately this will mean that we won’t be able to have spectators initially to keep room numbers within safe limits. We will make you aware as soon as this changes. We will be seeing if we can sort out a one way system with exit after the class to the outside doors, if the centre will allow. To ensure your child is safe as always they won’t be able to leave without a parent/ guardian present.
For Tudor Grange
Classes will be in the sports hall in the normal place. Again we won’t be able to have spectators initially to keep room numbers within safe limits. We will make you aware as soon as this changes. We will be seeing if we can sort out a one way system with exit after the class to the outside doors, if the centre will allow. To ensure your child is safe as always they won’t be able to leave without a parent/ guardian present.
The centres will have hand sanitising in place. You will need to wear face protection unless practising so young people will need a mask in case they need to use the toilet- I’m sure you appreciate if it is possible to go prior to the class this would be the best option.
There will not be any changing facilities available initially so students will need to arrive changed for their class.
We will have an allocated space for each student’s belongings. Classes have to remain socially distanced so we will be doing mainly footwork exercises, weapons kata (patterns) and other distanced games. We may not have mats initially and when we do you/ your young person will have their own mat space to practise on.
We will be allowing space to allow movement within the room whilst maintaining the correct social distancing, and coaches will also be keeping their distance too.
Returning to exercise can be a little daunting and we will be building up the activities to allow for the potential time off that you may have had. Students will be able to proceed at there their own pace and we will be allowing for the fact that some of the Aikido may possibility have been forgotten!
Equipment if used will be for the duration of the class and will be cleaned afterwards
There are going to be a few things that you may not be as happy with, but I’m sure you can appreciate that this is for the safety of your family and friends as well as yourself. We will have to be very strict regarding these rules as the centres will be checking they are being enforced in order to stay open too. Hopefully these changes can be relaxed sooner rather than later, but it will allow us to practise after a long wait if we abide by them for the time being.
If you do have any queries or concerns we will try our best to answer them, although there will be some uncertainty. The senior coaching staff is really looking forwards to seeing you all and hope to see you back in the Dojo in the next couple of weeks
